Oscar moments

It’s always been a special treat, for as long as I can remember, to stay up all night (or get up really early) to watch the Oscars. Growing up, the ceremony usually started around 2 or 3 am, so if I was getting up, I’d usually leave it until 4, so I’d skip some of the “boring” awards.

Now skip forward a few years and now suddenly I have my own little baby, who has a bedtime of 8pm and gets up at 7. Now there is a problem with watching the Oscars in the middle of the night. But thankfully I found out that it’s repeated entirely this afternoon.

So now me and S. are sitting on the couch, with L. asleep on my arm (finally!!!!) and the two dogs lounging around in front of the fireplace.

Tinseltown never loses its appeal to me and to this day I’d love to be a part of it all. I don’t think I have any acting talent whatsoever, not even enough for our community musical society. I was on stage with them for two shows and every time I watch the DVDs, I just cringe at the performance (or lack thereof).

Anybody else out there that would just love to do something that they unfortunately have not the slightest talent for? Or am I the only one?

Now I shall focus again on what’s going on on the screen and just for this afternoon pretend I am not sitting in my living room but amongst all the glamorous celebrities, myself dressed up just as much as everybody around me.

From my heart to yours,
Sandra
